Piecing tips from the art quilter! from Art and Quilting in Camden

First, hi everyone and welcome to new readers! I’ve actually been piecing…set-in circles no less! Above is the 74″ square top. Each block will finish at 12 1/2 inches. I used Latifah Safari’s 12″ Clammy to cut the circles, half circles and the corner quarter squares. Her instructions have you cut the outside from a single piece of cloth, but in addition to wanting to mix up the colors I felt that used too much yardage. Delightful Doilies and Linens from the Mid Atlantic Quilt Show from Telling Stories Through the Needle's Eye

A couple of weeks ago, Teri and I (Kara) were able to attend the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Show. We go there yearly, as it falls right before The Academy of Appliqué. It is a small show, but it usually has a great variety of quilts, and this year was no different. One exhibit in particular became our favorite, as it gave us lots of great ideas for our very large doily collection. This exhibit was created by Nancy S. Breland and was called Exploring Vintage Linens. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Kaffe Fasset in Bath, Part One from Telling Stories Through the Needle's Eye

A couple of weeks ago, I (Kara) wrote about a lovely quilt shop, Poppy Patch, over in England, with a little teaser of the Kaffe Fasset exhibit at the American Museum in Bath, UK.
